Killer of infant gets death sentence

BHOPAL - An Indore court in Madhya Pradesh Tuesday awarded death sentence to a man for killing an infant, a lawyer said.

“Indore Sessions Judge K.C. Garg awarded death sentence to 50-year-old Birju Ahirwar against whom 25 cases were pending in different courts, for killing one-year-old Arman on Dec 13 last year,” Public Prosecutor Ravindra Singh Gaur told reporters in Indore.

Ahirwar on denial of extortion money and under the influence of liquor had fired at a general store owner Babulal but the bullet hit the child who succumbed to injuries.

The verdict in the case has been delivered in a record time. The hearing of the case started Jan 8, 2010, and was completed Feb 9.
