Two men arrested for throwing friend’s body in canal

GHAZIABAD - Two men have been arrested after they disposed of the body of their friend, who was killed in accidental fire when his illegal weapon went off, in Hindon canal Friday, Ghazaiabad police said Monday.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Raghuvir Lall told media persons here that Manoj Kumar and Ravindra Kumar were nabbed by the Indirapuram police during patrolling in Mohan Nagar.

During interrogation, the two men revealed that their friend Mukesh Kumar, a resident of Flat No 151 Nyay Khand II, Indirapuram, was cleaning his illegal pistol. When they objected to him having an illegal weapon and attempted to snatch it, the pistol went off and a bullet hit Mukesh Kumar in his abdomen and he died when they were taking him to a local hospital.

Afraid of police case, they threw the body and the pistol in the Hindon canal near Kinaoni.

Based on their information, police recovered the weapon and the body of Mukesh from the canal.
