Five killed in Punjab jeep-truck collision

TARN TARAN - At least five people, including three women, were killed and six injured when their jeep collided with a truck near Hari-ke-Pattan town in the border district of Tarn Taran in Punjab Saturday.

A police officer said the victims were heading for a wedding ceremony when the accident took place. Tarn Taran is 290 km from state capital Chandigarh.

The injured were rushed to government hospitals here and in Amritsar.
