GHAZIABAD - An executive of a multinational company was arrested for forging documents to get a passport under the ‘tatkal’ (fast-track) category, police said Friday.

Shalendra Chauhan, 28, working as an assistant manager with a company at Noida, had to go to Malaysia on an official trip and submitted a recommendation letter of Additional District Magistrate, Ghaziabad, Satish Kumar along with his application form to the regional passport officer (RPO) at Ghaziabad.

During verification, the recommendation letter was found to be forged. The passport officials informed the Kavi Nagar police, who registered a case under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) against Chauhan.
