Maoist arrested in Orissa

BHUBANESWAR - A Maoist rebel was arrested Monday during a combing operation in Orissa’s Sundergarh district, police said.

The Maoist, named Bimal Munda, was arrested during a combing operation by Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel from Topadihi’s forested area of Sundergarh district, over 500 km from here.

“One Maoist was arrested during a combing operation by CRPF early today,” Sub Divisional Police Officer Sudarshan Sethy said.

According to police, Munda had a hand in killing Ravi Oram, a contractor in this area.
