CO girl killed when school bus collides with car
GREELEY, Colo. — A teenager is dead after the car she was riding in was hit broadside by a school bus north of Greeley, Colo.
Investigators say the Tuesday-morning crash killed 15-year-old Karla Mendoza-Gonzalez, who was riding in the back seat. The car was being driven by her brother, 16-year-old Francisco Mendoza-Gonzalez, who was injured in the crash. A 14-year-old passenger also was hurt.
Police say the wreck happened as Francisco Mendoza-Gonzalez was making a turn from a stop sign.
The school bus, from the Eaton School District, was loaded with students at the time. At least one student was injured in the crash but did not require hospitalization.
