1 dead, 9 hurt in bus crash on NY’s Long Island

NORTHAMPTON, N.Y. — Police on New York’s Long Island say one person has been killed and nine others injured in a bus crash.

Southampton Town Police did not have many details about the Tuesday crash. It involved a Suffolk County Transit bus.

A dispatcher says the crash happened at an intersection in Northhampton, near Riverhead. Officials did not have any immediate information on whether another vehicle was involved.

The rural area of Long Island is about 75 miles east of Manhattan.
