Main accused in Bihar massacre arrested

PATNA - The main accused in the massacre of 34 people belonging to an upper caste was arrested here Monday, police said.

Ramesh Yadav, who was arrested by the Special Task Force (STF), is an accused in the 1999 caste massacre where Maoists mostly belonging to backward castes attacked Senari village in Jehanabad district and shot dead 34 upper caste villagers while they slept.

“An STF team arrested Yadav near Gardanibagh here following a tip-off,” a police source said.

Yadav was absconding after the massacre.
