Army chief orders court martial of military secretary

NEW DELHI - Acting on the “advice” of Defence Minister A.K. Antony, Indian Army chief Gen. Deepak Kapoor Friday ordered a court martial of his chief aide Lt. Gen. Avadesh Prakash for his involvement in a land scam in West Bengal’s Sukhna cantonment, a defence official said Friday.

The army chief’s decision has come two days after the defence minister advised a court martial of the military secretary on the issue. Prakash is due to retire Jan 31.
