Man killed for failing to repay Rs.200 loan, attacker arrested

NEW DELHI - A 36-year-old man was arrested for killing another man who was unable to repay him a loan of Rs.200, police said Sunday.

Anil Kumar was arrested Saturday for beating Ravi to death with a stick in Nabi Karim area of old Delhi Nov 10.

During interrogation, Anil said that Ravi had borrowed Rs.200 from him but was not returning it. On Nov 10, an enraged Anil beat Ravi with a stick till he collapsed, Deputy Commissioner of Police (central Delhi) Jaspal Singh said.

“After the incident, Anil fled Delhi and lived in Kolkata, Kanpur and other places, where he earned his livelihood by working as a labourer,” Singh added.
