Haiti Telethon Hosted By Wyclef Jean, Anderson Cooper, George Clooney

LOS ANGELES (GaeaTimes.com)- In a bid to raise funds to facilitate the relief operations in the disaster hit island nation of Haiti, a telethon “Hope For Haiti Now” was held on Friday night. The event was jointly hosted by rapper Wyclef Jean, CNN journalist Anderson Cooper as well as actor George Clooney.
The telethon event was hosted by rapper and activist Wyclef Jean from New York, who divulged details about his experiences in the devastated nation and the subsequent assistance that he has been providing in the island. Wyclef Jean’s charity foundation Yele Haiti Foundation has played a pivotal role in raising donations to provide an impetus to the relief efforts in the devastated island.

Anderson Cooper, who hosted the event from the city of Port-au-Prince, was seen with a man discussing details about running an orphanage for the children who had lost their parents in the catastrophe. At the same time, George Clooney hosted the event directly from Los Angeles and revealed the enormity of the natural calamity by divulging the facts and the figures associated with the disaster.
The much anticipated event turned out to be a huge success as it saw more than hundred celebrities coming together to pledge their support for the victims, whose lives have been devastated due to the massive natural calamity.
