HAITI (GaeaTimes.com)- The Haiti earthquake has become a great cause that has united the big names in the film and music industry of the United States. The Hope For Haiti Now concert, that was aired live in a number of channels, was held in three venues, Los Angeles, New York and Haiti itself. The program at Los Angeles was hosted by the actor George Clooney, the one on New York by the rapper Wyclef Jean. The leg of the event that had been held in Haiti was hosted by CNN host Anderson Cooper. Many of the personalities from the movie and music scenario of the United States, including Dave Matthews Band, actress Jennifer Hudson, and singers Dave Matthews, Neil Young and Alicia Keys were present.

Dave Matthews’ Haiti performance consisted of a duet with the singer Neil Young. The two singers collaborated to perform their rendition of the timeless classic “Alone And Forsaken”, by country music icon Hank Williams. Needless to say, the selection of the song was apt, capturing the gravity and pathos of the cause to the hilt.

The Dave Matthews Haiti performance came across as entertaining to some, and not so much to others. For many of those who watched the show, either live or on television, the performance was electric, the combined talents of the two singers, Dave Matthews and Neil Young, lending a new edge to the evergreen classic. For some others, the song did not get its due judgment, a criticism mainly attributed to the fact that the two singers lacked chemistry, taking away much of the magic from the Dave Matthews Haiti performance.
