Dawood aide arrested in Lucknow with fake currency

LUCKNOW - Underworld don Dawood Ibrahim’s suspected aide allegedly involved in making fake passports has been arrested here, an official said Wednesday.
The state’s Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) arrested Mohammad Ashraf late Tuesday from the Burlington crossing in the Hussainganj area of the city, Additional Director General of Police Brij Lal told reporters.
“Ashraf is also involved in making fake passports of a number of shooters working for the D Company (as Dawood Ibrahim’s gang is commonly known as),” Lal said.
According to the police, Ashraf mainly used to operate from near the India-Nepal border.
Ashraf is being interrogated.
Fake currency worth Rs.10,000, a mobile phone and some railway tickets have been seized from the accused.
