Man arrested for murder after tip-off from brother

GHAZIABAD - A 24-year-old man was arrested Tuesday on a tip-off to the police by his brother for allegedly murdering a youth here, police said.

Hemant Singh, 24, son of fire station officer in Ghaziabad, was arrested after the police were alerted by Hemant’s younger brother Sachin Singh, 18, who returned Tuesday morning to the flat where the two brothers stayed to find Hemant cleaning blood stains from the floor and walls of the house.

Sachin alerted the police and during interrogation Hemant confessed to having killed a man named Lucky, with the help of a girl who had come to the flat the previous night.

Police said they were looking for the girl.

Hemant was pursuing law from a private college in Ghaziabad.
