Cyclone kills 10 in Bihar

Cyclone again hit eastern regions of Bihar, killing 10 people and damaging hundreds of houses last evening.

Officials said the cycle accompanied with rain and lightening brought massive destruction in four eastern Bihar districts, namely Purnia, Kishenganj, Madhepura and Begusarai.

They said hundreds of mud houses were damaged and shanties blown away under the impact of storms which also uprooted many trees and destroyed fruits like mangoes and litchis.

Last month, more than 90 people were killed and about 100,000 houses were damaged in the storms which badly destroyed normal life.
