East Delhi property dealer arrested for murder

NEW DELHI - A property dealer was arrested for allegedly killing a man during a fight in east Delhi, police said Thursday.
According to police, the fracas broke out following an argument between Pramod Giri’s group and another property dealer Brijpal Tewatia and his gang, over payment for land that was to be registered in Tewatia’s name Dec 14.
“The deceased, Amit Chaudhury, was also a property dealer. He was shot dead when the two groups opened fire during the argument. He was not involved in the fight but got a bullet injury when they opened fire,” Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) Ashok Chand said.
Giri was apprehended from Mayur Vihar Metro station Dec 20.
“A pistol and three live cartridges were recovered from his possession,” said a police official.
