Dannevirke Car Crash Kills a Young Girl, 2 Critically Injured

DANNEVIRKE (GaeaTimes.com) — A young girl named Cassandra Gali Schumann of age 20, was killed when her car crashed into the wall of a bank building in the town early today.

The crash took place at around 1.45 a.m on the corner of Stanley and London street. The other two passengers of the car were taken to Palmerston North Hospital with serious injuries. Both of the men are now under intensive care unit. Currently both of them are in stable conditions.

The road was blocked for several hours for examination by the police. After initial investigation police are blaming ‘over-speeding’ as the cause of the accident.

Unfortunately, at around 3 am, another crash took place 5km north of Dannevirke when a car skidded off Highway 2 and hit a tree.

The driver and sole occupant, Hohepa Black, 25, was airlifted to Palmerston North Hospital where this afternoon he was in a stable condition.
