LUCKNOW - Five men were arrested in Farrukhabad in Uttar Pradesh with heroin and cannabis worth Rs.1 crore, police said Monday.

“The five men, in their early 30s, were nabbed late Sunday following a brief shootout in Merapur area,” police inspector S.K. Dubey told reporters in Farrukhabad, some 200 km from Lucknow.

“All the five have been in the illegal trade for the last five years. They were arrested while they were on their way to hand over the illegal consignment of drugs to their clients in Farrukhabad’s Mohammadabad area,” he said.

According to police, the men supplied drugs to their clients in Bihar, Uttarakhand, Madhya Pradesh and Delhi.
