Drunk government staffer jumps to death in Lucknow

LUCKNOW - A middle-aged government staffer jumped to his death in an inebriated condition Tuesday from the third floor of the Secretariat Annexe building here, police said.

“Anil Kumar Srivastava was a peon in the chief secretary’s office,” police said.

Srivastava was depressed for the past few days, his colleagues told police.

Srivastava, a widower, is survived by two sons, police said.

The Secretariat Annexe building here houses many important state government departments, including the chief minister’s office.
