Pakistan customs seize goods worth Rs 300 mn

ISLAMABAD - The customs department in Pakistan recovered smuggled goods worth Rs 311 million in the month of October, an official statement said here.

The department - officially known as the Directorate General Intelligence and Investigation of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) - said it made 98 seizures of smuggled goods during the month, according to Online news agency.

The seized goods include 3,740 kg narcotics having a market value of Rs.147 million, 269,000 litres of high-speed diesel valued at Rs.18.5 million, around 1,900 foreign-brand tyres valued at Rs.6.4 million, 49 vehicles valued at Rs.60 million and 15 tonnes of tea valued at Rs.3.3 million, the statement said.
