HYDERABAD - Residents of Nalgonda district, some 100 km from here, were shocked when they discovered a severed head on a road divider Monday morning. Within hours, other body parts too were found strewn across various public places, bringing to light a gruesome murder.

“The victim has been identified as Appala Naidu, 40 years, a resident of Guntur district,” police said.

Police are on the lookout for one Yousuf Ali, their prime suspect.

According to the police, Naidu, a small trader, used to visit Nalgonda for business. He had befriended Yousuf and developed an affair with one of his family members, angered at which Ali hacked Naidu to death late Sunday.

Naidu’s head, torso and limbs were found at different places in the district, police said, after locals in VT Colony of Nalgonda found his severed head on a road divider.

Policemen were seen collecting the body parts from different public places, including bus stations and roads.
