Securitymen attacked, rifles snatched away

LUCKNOW - Two armed men in Uttar Pradesh’s Muzaffarnagar district attacked a policeman and a Home Guard and shot one of them before making away with their rifles early Wednesday.

Constable Onkar Singh and Home Guard Dharam Singh were attacked while patrolling Garhipukhta area, some 400 km from Lucknow.

“The men assaulted them first and then snatched their rifles. The miscreants also shot the Home Guard when he tried to chase them,” police inspector Shailendra Singh told reporters in Muzaffarnagar.

“The home guard has received bullet injuries in his stomach. He is stated to be out of danger,” he added.
