Rs.20 lakh looted from Mumbai bank in armed heist

MUMBAI - Four people armed with revolvers looted cash worth Rs.20 lakh from a branch of Saraswat Bank in suburban Kandivli in a daring heist Monday morning, police said here.

The crime was committed in the morning just as the bank opened. Four masked men, armed with revolvers, forced their way into the bank. They threatened the bank staff and fled with the cash”, a police official from Charkop police station said.

A case has been registered against the four persons, who are as yet unidentified, and investigations have been launched, he added.
