Sweeper crushed after being sent to repair lift

RANCHI - A sweeper, sent to repair a technical snag in a lift at a hospital here, died as it crashed on him, police said.

The incident occurred at the Heavy Engineering Corporation (HEC) hospital here killing Deba Lohra.

After the incident, the hospital staff staged a demonstration and charged that non-technical staff was used to repair technical snags in the lift.

The HEC hospital management has announced it would give a job to a dependent of Lohra.
