Pirates seize fishing boat off Mauritius

NAIROBI - A fishing boat with 14 crew members onboard has been captured by pirates off the coast of Mauritius in the Indian Ocean, an African maritime agency has said.

The boat was hijacked 200 nautical miles north of Mauritius, the East African Seafarers’ Assistance Programme said, according to Xinhua.

The last report of a ship hijack came Sep 27, when Greek cargo ship MV Lugela with a dozen crew members onboard was seized off Somalia.
