RANCHI - A police officer shot dead two colleagues and injured one in Jharkhand’s Hazaribagh district, police said Tuesday.

Suresh Chaudhary, an Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI), started firing at his colleagues at Vishnugarh police barrack of Hazaribagh district, around 145 km from Ranchi.

The injured policeman has been admitted to hospital and is said to be out of danger.

“We have arrested Suresh Chaudhary and are interrogating him,” Pankaj Kambod, Superintendent of Police (SP) of Hazaribagh district, told IANS over telephone. Asked about the reason, he said: “We will ascertain the reasons after interrogation.”

Two months ago, seven CRPF personnel were gunned down by their colleagues in West Singhbhum district.
