Maoist commander arrested in Jharkhand

RANCHI - A self-styled Maoist sub-zonal commander, wanted in Orissa and Jharkhand, was arrested Sunday from Jharkhand’s Simdega district, police said.

Police said acting on a tip-off, they arrested Prakashji alias Neman Ganju, a sub-zonal commander of the Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) from Biro village of Simdega district, around 110 km from Ranchi. He was wanted in more than 17 cases in Jharkhand and Orissa, police said

One rifle and several rounds of cartridges were seized from him.
