Retired government official, wife found dead

LUCKNOW - A retired government official and his wife were found murdered at their residence in Uttar Pradesh’s Mathura district Saturday, police said.

Satya Prakash (70), a retired assistant regional manager (ARM) of the Uttar Pradesh State Warehousing Corporation, was found dead along with his wife Usha Devi (65), inside his residence at the Ramnagar Colony in Mathura, some 300 km from Lucknow.

“Preliminary investigations reveal that they were strangulated to death with a rope,” Superintendent of Police (City) Ram Lal told reporters in Mathura.

“We are trying to find out the motive behind the double murder. As of now, we have no clue about the killers,” he added.
