One dead, eight hurt in Los Angeles firing

LOS ANGELES - One person was killed and about eight others injured in a gunfire at a party in Los Angeles Saturday, Xinhua reported.

The firing occurred around 2.10 a.m. in the 1300 block of Los Palos Street near Olympic Boulevard, Los Angeles Police Department’s Lt. Richard Thomas said.

Meanwhile, two of the injured, who were in a critical condition, had been shifted to the County-USC Medical Centre. Two other people were stabbed at the party.

The attack does not seem to be gang-related, police said.

The neighbourhood is nestled in the southern part of Boyle Heights where the gunfire occurred. The incident is under probe.
