Mafia don Chhota Rajan’s aide arrested

LUCKNOW - An aide of underworld don Chhota Rajan was arrested by sleuths of Uttar Pradesh Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) here Saturday, officials said.

Mohd Alam, who has around 28 criminal cases, including of murder, pending against him in various police stations of Mumbai, was nabbed from near the Charbagh Railway Station.

“Mohd Alam alias Sheru was moving in different cities of Uttar Pradesh for the last several days,” said a press release issued here by the state director general of police (DGP).

According to officials, Mumbai Police had approached Uttar Pradesh Police a few days ago to assist them in arresting Alam.

“He (Alam) would be produced before a court here and would be then handed over to the Mumbai Police on a transit remand,” an ATS official said.
