MUMBAI - Four people were killed early Monday when a wall collapsed on their hut in Maharashtra’s Ulhasnagar town, police said.

“The incident happened around 4.30 a.m. at Ambedkar Nagar slums. A wall of the neighbouring building came crashing down on the hut when the victims were still asleep,” said a police official from Hill Line Police Station, under whose jurisdiction the Ambedkar Nagar slum falls.

Ulhasnagar is in Thane district.

The bodies of the victims were pulled out from the debris by neighbours and local residents before the fire brigade came in. No injuries were reported in the accident.

The neighbours identified the victims only by their first names - Santosh, Dhara, Pintya and Vinod. All were between the ages of 20-25.
