MEXICO CITY - The Mexican Army has discovered 72 corpses in a ranch in the northern state of Tamaulipas, which could be the largest number of bodies found in the same place.

The corpses found late Tuesday, including that of 58 males and 14 females, were a result of a clash between alleged drug traffickers and staff of the Mexican Navy, Xinhua reported.

According to an army statement, the clash occurred after an injured man arrived at a military checkpoint near the ranch, asking for aid, as drug traffickers were attacking him.
