MUMBAI - Firemen were battling a major blaze that broke out in a sound studio in Dadar in south Mumbai Tuesday evening, a fire brigade official said here. No casualties have been reported so far.

The fire broke out at Ruptara Sound Studio around 6 p.m., the official said.

“While we had initially rushed eight fire engines, seven more have been sent to the spot,” the official said.

“The spot is close to a cinema hall and a coaching institute in Dadar. We are waiting for more details,” said a police official from Bhoiwada Police Station.

“The cause of the fire and the loss to property is yet to be ascertained. However, a residential building adjoining the studio has been vacated to avoid any accidents,” the police official said.
