GRAY SUMMIT, Mo. — Broadcast reports say as many as 50 people have been injured in an accident involving two school buses and a tractor-trailer near St. Louis.
Broadcasters KMOX and KMOV in St. Louis reported the accident happened Thursday on eastbound Interstate 44 near Gray Summit. Both stations cited officials with the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department as saying up to 50 people were injured in the wreck.

The sheriff’s department did not confirm the injured number to The Associated Press and referred questions to the Missouri State Highway Patrol. The patrol did not immediately return a call seeking comment.
