Explosions heard in southern Israeli city of Eilat

JERUSALEM — A series of explosions have been heard in the southern Israeli city of Eilat.

Police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld says Monday that police are searching for the source of the explosion. Israeli media outlets are reporting that five rockets were fired at the city, landing nearby in the Red Sea.

No injuries or damage were reported.

In April, remains of a rocket were discovered in the waters near Eilat.

Eilat is a popular domestic and international tourist resort. Militant attacks in the area are rare.
