RANCHI - Three unidentified men barged into a Jharkhand bank Friday and looted Rs.5 lakh at gunpoint, police said.

The men barged into the Chichaki branch of Gramin Bank in Giridih, around 190 km from here, and locked some bank officials and customers in a room. They then looted Rs.5 lakh, a police officer said.

“The criminals escaped from the bank without any resistance,” the police officer said.

More than 55 banks have been looted in the state over the last seven years.
