BEIJING — State media says a bus has fallen off a cliff in southwestern China, killing 23 people on board.

The official Xinhua News agency says the bus was traveling from Ma’erkang County in Sichuan province to the provincial capital of Chengdu when it plummeted off a mountain road Sunday morning.

Xinhua says the accident happened on a road that was undergoing repairs in Danba county in Ganzi Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture.

No other details were immediately available.
