Man dies after bridge fall during Ky. flash floods
PIKEVILLE, Ky. — Kentucky State Police say a man who was checking on a relative’s home during flash flooding was killed when he fell from a bridge.
Police said in a press release that Craig Morris of Carrie had stopped on a highway bridge Saturday in Zebulon in eastern Kentucky. He was looking out over the area when he fell to his death.
Emergency officials say numerous homes were damaged, some were washed away, and roads and bridges were damaged during the flash flooding Saturday.
The Lexington Herald-Leader reports that homes throughout the central part of the county were without tap water and would be on a boil-water advisory when it comes back on. The storms also knocked out power to hundreds of customers.
