Obama calls news on oil spill ‘positive sign’
WASHINGTON — President Barack Obama says news that BP has succeeded in capping the Gulf oil spill is a “positive sign.”
But he says, “We’re still in the testing phase.” The president said he would have more to say on the development Friday.
Obama spoke in response to a question outside the White House after delivering a statement on Senate passage of a financial overhaul bill.
