Ransom demanded for Jharkhand assembly employee’s release

RANCHI - Police Tuesday remained clueless about the whereabouts of an abducted Jharkhand assembly employee, whose family has received a Rs.2 crore ransom call from suspected Maoists.

According to police, Rabindra Kumar was abducted Sunday night from his house situated on the outskirts of Ranchi.

His family received a Rs.2 crore ransom call Monday, police said.

According to police, a Maoist organization — Jharkhand Prastuti Committee (JPC) — is suspected to have abducted Rabindra Kumar.
