NASHIK - Three students drowned in a lake in Nashik district, police said Sunday.

“The boys had gone for a trip to the popular Lahandhara lake and to see the windmills in the area on Saturday. They must have then gone for a swim,” said a police officer.

The bodies were retrieved Sunday from the lake in Sinnar city, 30 km southeast of Nashik.

The victims have been identified as Sagar Gare, Somnath Gotarne and Sagar Borade all aged 18.

“All three were third-year polytechnic students,” the officer added.
