24 killed in China bus fire

BEIJING - At least 24 people were killed and 19 injured after a fire broke out on a bus in China, authorities said Monday.

The incident occurred Sunday night when the bus ferrying workers of Xuefeng steel company caught fire in Wuxi city of east China’s Jiangsu province, Xinhua reported.

Of the 19 injured, three suffered more than 50 percent burn injuries.

Zhang Zhengyu, deputy president of the city hospital where the injured were admitted, said all the injured were in stable condition.

Police are yet to ascertain the cause of the fire.
