LONDON - A burglar got more than he bargained for when he broke into a wrestler’s home in Britain. When he saw the heavily muscled home owner, the thief begged for mercy.

Adam Kalinowski, a 37-year-old former professional wrestler from Poland, caught Lee Christie stealing a laptop.

An angry Kalinowski grappled with the thief, gripped him in a headlock and pinned him down for 20 minutes until police arrived at his home in Coventry.

“I come home and the door is broken. I see the man, I mean this guy is big and I do not know what he was doing there or what was in the bag, maybe a knife. Maybe it was the adrenaline, but I was not scared because this is my house,” the Daily Express Tuesday quoted Kalinowski as saying.

“He looked at me, said ‘Oh s***’ and pushed me on to the wall so I gave him a kick in the stomach and he slowed down. I know how to wrestle, I like fighting sports, so I got him in a Nelson headlock. He was trying to get up so I had to punch him in the head,” he added.

The wrestler said the thief began to cry and he pleaded with him to be left alone.

“He was lucky I did not kill him because of how I felt at the time.”
