Obama to Gulf Coast residents: Normal will return
THEODORE, Ala. — President Barack Obama is promising Gulf Coast residents that the region will be left in better shape than it was before the massive BP oil spill that fouled the waters and threatened their way of life.
On a visit to the Alabama coast Monday, Obama said his administration will do everything it can, working all day every day, to make sure that coastal communities now suffering economically get back on their feet.
The president is also promising residents that the region will return to normal.
The spill has become the worst environmental disaster in U.S. history.
