Rs.4.5 lakh looted from Ranchi bank customer

RANCHI - Unidentified criminals looted Rs.4.5 lakh from a bank customer in Ranchi, police said Monday.

Birendra Jha, an employee of Gyan Traders, had gone to the Main Road branch of Canara Bank to deposit an amount of Rs.6 lakh. While he was depositing the money, some unidentified men took away one of his bags which had Rs.4.5 lakh in it.

“When I was depositing money, the bag carrying Rs.4.5 lakh went missing. I do not know who took away the bag,” said Jha to reporters. Police was later informed about the incident.

“We are investigation the case and trying to find out how the bag went missing,” A. Kispotta, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Ranchi told reporters.
