Spill panel may also take bigger look at US, oil
WASHINGTON — The Associated Press has learned the president will appoint two global warming experts to the commission investigating the Gulf oil spill.
One of them last month wrote about how the country should redouble its efforts to lessen its dependence on oil following the oil spill.
The two experts are Donald Boesch (BOSH), president of the University of Maryland’s Center for Environmental Science, and former Alaska Lt. Gov. Fran Ulmer (ULL-mer), who is currently chancellor of the University of Alaska Anchorage.
The two would join former Florida Sen. Bob Graham and former Environmental Protection Agency chief William Reilly on the panel. It was previously announced that Graham and Reilly would be co-chairmen of the commission.
