LOS ANGELES (GaeaTimes.com)- The 91 Freeway in Los Angeles had to be shut down on Friday for a pretty long span of about eight hours. Needless to say, it caused a whole lot of concern for the people availing the freeway, and quite a lot do, considering that it is touted to be one of the busiest in Southland. Moreover, the disruption was even greater on Friday, considering that the weekend marked the beginning of the Memorial weekend, and it was very evident that the hundreds of motorists and other drivers had to go through a whole lot of trouble regarding the 91 Freeway closure.

The 91 Freeway closure occurred due to a major accident, or, rather one that could have been really big. A truck containing about 8,800 tonnes of gasoline overturned ion the freeway, taking along with it several other vehicles. The tanker went up in flames as soon as it overturned, very understandably. In fact, the entire accident occurred in a kind of a chain reaction. An oncoming truck collided with a Mitsubishi sedan, and in order to avoid colliding with either of them, the driver of the tanker swerved, and losing control, overturned in the Freeway, taking along with it two other vehicles, one of them a Honda.

According to the police department, the incident was absolutely an accident. The police reported that they have found no evidence of any foul play. The 91 Freeway closure marked a major problem for all the people who wee traveling in that area, although, thankfully, the accident did not have any major repercussions than the closure of the 91 Freeway in Los Angeles. The police reported that a total of three people have been taken to the hospital, but none of them had sustained any grave injuries.
