MEXICO CITY - Mexican Army has rescued 55 people including 12 women and five children and captured six alleged kidnappers during an operation in Mexico’s Reynosa city, officials said.

The rescue mission was carried out Wednesday by the Command of the 8th military zone, following an anonymous call about a house where the abducted people were being kept, Xinhua reported citing a statement from the National Defence Ministry.

The military went to the house and took control of the situation without any clash, it said, adding that the people were from Central and South American countries and will be repatriated.
