Indy 500 practice ends with Viso’s crash
INDIANAPOLIS — Venezuela’s E.J. Viso has ended the fourth day of Indianapolis 500 practice with a hard crash coming out of he first turn.
Viso spun as he went through the turn and slid up the track and hit the outside wall. He was taken off the track on a stretcher. He was taken to the hospital for X-rays, but there was no further word on his condition.
It was the second crash of the day for a KV Racing Technology driver.
Brazil’s Mario Moraes damaged the rear wing and the gear box when he spun into the inside wall coming out of the pits. He was not hurt.
Practice is scheduled to resume Wednesday, with qualifying scheduled for Saturday and Sunday.
