Plane crashes into Fla. house; residents unhurt
CLEARWATER, Fla. — Florida authorities say a small plane has crashed into a house in Clearwater but nobody in the home was injured.
A Clearwater city spokeswoman says the plane hit the roof of one house and landed in the backyard.
Three people were on board, but none suffered life-threatening injuries.
Spokeswoman Elizabeth Watts said several people were inside the home at the time, but none were injured.
The Federal Aviation Administration said the plane is a Piper PA-46 that departed from Clearwater Airpark.
Neighbor Gordon White said he heard a plane flying overhead and then a large boom. He said the neighborhood filled with smoke after the crash.
